Investigation
Structural AssessmentOur highly-regarded reputation for structural project design extends to reliable structural assessment, which consists of the on-site and in-office review of existing structures for a variety of purposes. This may include:
- Failure analysis: To determine the weak link, we analyze the structural capacity and condition in contrast with loading conditions at the time of failure.
- Feasibility studies: Particularly helpful for changes in usage/loading or additions/changes to the structure itself, this review of the existing structure determines the allowable capacity of the structure before and after modification. It is followed by a structural analysis of the new loading conditions applied.
- Heritage building upgrades: The modification of historic structures requires a unique and delicate review so to protect the architectural integrity of the building.
- Third-party structural reviews: Conducted for mortgage or insurance purposes, this consists of an overall review of the structure and its condition.
Depending on the unique specifications of the client and the condition of the structure, Crosier Kilgour & Partners is able to employ a multitude of non-invasive, non-destructive investigative techniques such as impact echo analysis. We also have the necessary tools to complete more invasive inspections, as required.
