Manitoba Hydro Downtown Headquarters
The new 690,000-square foot office tower is designed to take advantage of solar gains for heating, natural ventilation, natural daylighting and geothermal energy for cooling and heating. Long-span column bays were required to provide optimum flexibility. The concrete structure provides thermal mass for large temperature swings to maintain optimum comfort levels. It is anticipated that the building will achieve LEED Gold certification.
